Spider-Man Will Get His Own Web-Slinging Channel in Germany This June

Spider-Man lovers in Germany, which there are a lot of, will be in for a treat this summer when Sky Deutschland launches a channel devoted to and showing nothing but the web-slinging superhero.

On June 1st, Sky will launch “Sky Cinema Spider-Man HD” as a pop-up channel to replace the current “Sky Cinema Hits” and will run all of Spider-Man’s “big movie adventures around the clock” through June 10th, including the German TV premiere of Spider-Man: Homecoming on June 3rd.

Sky Deutschland has toyed around with themed pop-up channels like this in the past and most recently dedicated a week to all superheroes with “Superhelden HD”. Channels devoted to other popular franchises, including Harry Potter and Fast & Furious have been given the pop-up treatment before as well.

With only six Spider-Man movies in the mix, the channel will see quite a few repeats, and while none of the popular animated movies or shows will be featured, there will be a few ‘making of’ featurettes thrown into the mix.

For fans looking to get something special out of the deal, Sky Deutschland will also be making all of the movies available in UHD resolution via their Sky On Demand service.
