We have good news for fans of Netflix’s recent German TV hit Dark as the streaming service announced on Wednesday that the show will be given a second season to continue exploring the time-bending storyline that left us hanging at the end of season one.

According to Netflix, Dark has quickly become one of the most-watched foreign language shows on the platform, making it a no-brainer to renew for at least one more season. “When we first heard about Dark, we realized very early on that we hadn’t seen anything like this show before,” said Netflix VP for international originals Kelly Luegenbiehl. “Dark is a testament that great storytelling transcends geography. We’re excited that our members around the globe are captivated by the mysterious world of Winden, and will now be able to continue to see how the story unfolds.”

Netflix isn’t the only one excited about the response as Dark creators Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese were obviously thrilled with the shows apparent success. “Viewers have been captivated by the secrets of our protagonists and have taken delight in unraveling the various puzzles that the story presents. To know that we will now embark on our next journey is, for us showrunners, a dream come true,” the two told The Hollywood Reporter upon news of the show’s renewal. Fans were also promised “plenty of surprises” for the second season.

While no details on when season two of Dark will hit Netflix have been released yet, the company typically releases followup seasons close to when the previous season debuts, so we can expect a release sometime towards the end of 2018.

If you haven’t yet watched the first season of Dark, now is the time seeing as we already know more episodes are in store. You won’t be disappointed.
