Bieryoga: German Exercise Craze Mixes Yoga with Beer

Since starting a regular yoga routine, I’d sometimes feel a little scandalous with my glass of beer sitting within arms length to provide occasional hydration, but now it turns out that my little guilty pleasure is nothing more than an already existing exercise craze, Bieryoga, from the good old land of beer — Germany.

Emily and Jhula are two beer loving yoga instructors that started the mini Bieryoga movement in Berlin back in 2015, and has since seen the idea catch on in various cities around the world. But the duo are quick to note that the craze is not a joke, saying: “We take the philosophies of yoga and pair it with the pleasure of beer-drinking to reach your highest level of consciousness.”

So no, this isn’t an exercise that leaves you drunk on booze, but getting the little buzz mixed in with the after yoga high is almost just as fun. Check it out for yourself in the video below:
