China is most likely the first guess as to where our purchases are being manufactured, whether that is a new piece of technology or the latest addition to our closet, but it doesn’t always equate to quality. According to the latest Statista Made-In-Country-Index, which looks at the most respected ‘Made in’ label countries, China is nowhere to be found among the top 20 — ‘Made in Germany’ on the other hand comes in as number one.
Germany sitting at the top of the list isn’t a complete shocker as the country has a solid reputation of manufacturing precision and quality. Something that was not overlooked by over 43 thousand consumers participating in the 2017 survey. Products carrying the And a ‘Made in Germany’ label automatically earns a product respect that China may never see.

As an amusing side note, the ‘Made in’ label that we now find on virtually every product, was originally introduced by the British to protect against the cheap and low-quality imports from Germany at the end of the 19th century. Now, in 2017, UK products still rank among the best, but sit in fourth place under Germany’s first.
When it comes the ‘Made in America’, the US was in a three-way tie with Japan and France for eighth place.
