Eurovision news is once again heating up as participating countries make their official selections for this year’s main event in Kiev, Ukraine, and hidden among the news that most of the organizing team had suddenly quit was the music video release of Germany’s winning song Perfect Life, performed by Levina.
Germany faced an embarrassing blow in 2016 as the country came in last place in the final competition, which then led to an entire switch up of how this year’s selection process worked. With the debut of Unser Song, the newly developed competition, the country hopes to have improved their odds at landing in a position to grab the title once again.
Perfect Life has the feel-good charm that tends to do well in the contest, but does it have what it takes to stand out among some of the more jaw-dropping performances that graced the stage last year? It is being reported that Levina will be working on her staging with Marvin Diekmann, a Eurovision veteran who helped Austria’s Conchita Wurst take the victory in 214.
Once the final competition takes place this May, we shall see what magic Diekmann dreams up, but then again, Germany can only move up from the current bottom.
