With Donald Trump officially sworn in today as the 45th President of the United States, a new poll is out from Germany that takes a look at just how popular the new leader of America is among the German people. As expected, the numbers see some drastic fluctuation between individual beliefs or political party affiliations, but the overall favorability towards Trump is quite low.
Out of the 3,000+ respondents, 32 percent see the new president as “unpredictable”, while 27 percent view him as “dangerous”. 20 percent considered Trump as being “irresponsible”. And while only 11 percent of respondents feel that he is “straightforward” and another 5.2 call the change “refreshing”, Trumps numbers fared much better when looking at Germany’s more conservative parties.
Among those who align themselves with the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, almost half, 46 percent, saw Trump as “straightforward” and another 25 percent call him “refreshing”. Only 2.4 percent feared the new American president as “dangerous”.
