Shortly after celebrating his golden wedding anniversary, a man in the German town of Bad Münstereifel, lost his wedding ring, the golden symbol that commemorated the event for the last 50 years, while doing work in his garden. His wife reassured him that it would eventually turn up among the dirt, but as time passed, his hope to once again reunite with the ring faded.
After three years the hopeful expectation to find the ring had long passed, but while pulling up some fresh vegetables recently, the man, now at the ripe age of 82, found his wedding ring hugging onto a carrot. His wife was unable to give the customary “I told you so”, as she sadly passed six months earlier, but perhaps it was her parting gift from above.
