Well Germany is officially Americanized. In a survey conducted by Hamburg’s “Stiftung für Zukunftsfragen” (Foundation for Future Studies), personal interviews were done with 3,000 Germans aged 14 and older asking what it is they enjoy doing after a day of work or school, and 97 percent favored just sitting back alone to watch their favorite show on TV.
While quiet time alone to just think and relax is and always was a popular choice, a growing number of respondents seem to seek out isolation. Socializing dropped almost 9 percent since last year to a mere 17.3 percent showing interest in meeting up with friends.
Also on the decline were trips to the theater, joining clubs and… sex! Less than a third of Germans show any interest in sex. Talk about some boring nights at home.
