2014 Chicago Steuben

Last year we returned for our third appearances in the Chicago and New York City Steuben Parades and we’re pleased to announce that we will be doing it again this year!  One of the best parts of last year was meeting some of our readers who came out to join us in the parades and we are once again inviting all of you to march with us this year.

The Chicago parade will be taking place on Saturday September 12 at 1:00, and ends up at the German Day festival grounds where last year we enjoyed some great German food and beer with those who marched with us.  Our lineup position will be just west of the intersection of Lincoln Ave and Irving Park, on Lincoln Ave.  Look for German Pulse, dressed in Kiwi green shirts. We’d be happy to meet with even more of our Chicagoland readers this year.

One week after Chicago we will be making the trip to New York City for a whole weekend of activities. The NYC Steuben parade is on Saturday September 19 and we’d love to have our New York readers join us as we march down Fifth Avenue with fellow groups from the US, Canada, and Germany.

Each participant will each receive a German Pulse sponsorship T-shirt to wear while marching in the parade so that we can showcase a uniform marching group.

Our new site LGBT Germany will also be joining in the parade, and we are looking for marchers to join in on that group as well!

Again, this is a great opportunity to not only share our pride in our heritage but to also meet our readers. If you are interested in marching with us in Chicago or New York, send an email to [email protected] and state which parade you want to take part in and we will send you the lineup details as soon as we get them.

We will need to know by August 22 if you are planning on joining us.
