The German-American Committee of Greater NY is once again gearing up to crown the next Miss German-America and there is still time to submit applications before the May crowning ceremony. Whoever is chosen will act as the spokeswoman for the New York Steuben Parade, and will promote the New York Steuben Parade by attending exciting cultural events in the greater NYC area.
And for those who don’t qualify and still want to be a part of the festivities, the crowning event will be held on Sunday, May 18th at the Reichenbach Hall, Manhattan’s largest indoor beer hall, where those in attendance will cast the final vote to crown the 2014 Miss German-America and her court.
So what does it take to become the next Miss German-America? Applicants must be 18-25 years of age, single, and an American citizen with a German background. General knowledge of the German language is desirable, and applicants must be able to participate in the various planned events, including the NYC Steuben Parade events on the weekend of September 19th-21st 2014.
The application deadline is April 25, 2014 (April 15, 2014 for Jr. Applications) and the full details, including application documents, are available on the German-American Committee of Greater NY website.
