If you find yourself living in the Chicagoland area, there’s a great chance that you’ve already heard that Germany’s famous Hofbräuhaus is coming to Chicago. Located in Rosemont, Illinois, the Chicago Hofbräuhaus will be the 4th official US location, following the successful restaurants in Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, and Newport. It’s about time they made their way to the windy city!
Back in 2011, we wrote about the ground breaking and at that time it was estimated to open up to the public during the summer of 2012. Now that we are moving into the winter months, many of our readers have been asking about when the much anticipated Hofbräuhaus will be opening their doors.
We reached out to Mike Matuschka, president of the Windy City Group which owns the Hofbräuhaus franchise rights in Chicago area, and it looks like after some delay, the Hofbräuhaus is expected to now open around the third week of January 2013.
So our Chicagoland readers only have a few more weeks to wait before this taste of Germany opens their doors. With an on-site brewery and the replica design and layout of the original Hofbräuhaus in Munich, this location is set to be a hit in Chicago.
