We are happy to announce that we will be participating in the Steuben Parades in Chicago and New York for the first time this year and we want to make two great weekends out of it where we can meet our readers in both cities. German Pulse will be in both parades and if you are in Chicago or New York, we welcome you to come on out and support us and even march with us in the parade.
The Chicago parade will be taking place on September 8th at 2pm and will be starting at 4000 N Lincoln Ave to Wilson Ave, continue north on Western Ave and end at the German Day Festival area. German food, entertainment and beer will be available at the festival, so please feel free to celebrate with us throughout the day.
German Pulse will then be making a mark in New York City the following weekend with plenty of opportunities to meet our readers. On September 14, the night before the parade, we will be attending the “Cruise, Dine and Dance” at the Steuben Parade Gala aboard the brand-new Hornblower Infinity, the most elegant Yacht in New York harbor. The following day, September 15, German Pulse will be marching in the largest US German-American Steuben Parade. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the parade which will be covered by US and German media.
If you would like to show your German-American support, join us for the parade at 11:30 am, on Fifth Avenue between 70th and 86th Streets. Like the parade in Chicago, we would love for our readers to march with us. Many of the NYC marchers will continue the celebration of German American Heritage and Gemutlichkeit at the biggest Oktoberfest on the East Coast in Central Park located at the Rumsey’s Playfield / Summer Stage.
Again, this is a great opportunity to meet up and share our pride in our heritage. If you are interested in marching with us in Chicago or New York, send an email to [email protected] and state which parade you want to participate in and we will send you the lineup details as soon as we get them.
For ticket information on the New York Gala Banquet and the Oktoberfest, visit www.germanparadenyc.org/store.html. Tickets go fast so if your interested you might want to head there right away. We look forward to meeting any readers that can make it out.
