Family Friendly German Corn Boil Fundraiser Coming to Peoria, IL Area

By Stephen Fuchs on Email @StephenWFuchs

The Peoria German-American Society will be hosting a Corn Boil Fundraiser event on Sunday July 22 to help make major improvements to the Hickory Grove Park. From 2-8pm a $7 donation will get you a pork chop sandwich, all you can eat sweet corn, baked beans and cole slaw, with the proceeds going towards the park improvements. Sounds like a good deal! And of course you can’t have a German themed event without German beer. German beer will be available to purchase along with domestic brands at the cash bar.

Make sure to bring the whole family as there will be plenty of activities for kids and adults throughout the day. You’ll be able to get in on a soccer game or two, participate in the bag toss competition, Bocci Ball, Ladder Golf, Horseshoes, Volley Ball, and the kids (or the young at heart) can play on the newly refurbished playground. A DJ will also be providing music to enjoy during the day as you participate in the various events.

If you can make the trip to the Peoria, IL area, we highly recommend checking it out. The Corn Boil Fundraiser will take place at Hickory Grove Park, 12503 Hickory Grove Rd., in Dunlap (just north of Peoria). Regular admission and parking is free.
