For all of our Tennessee readers, Maifest 2012 will be happening this Saturday (May 19) in Cleveland. What makes this Maifest special isn’t just the great German atmosphere, it’s that the proceeds will be going to help build a new school building for the Montessori Kinder’s school. It’s great to see the German community do something to help out on a local level.
Two of the organizers for the event, Christian Hoeferle and Robin Dance, were on the local Chattanooga NBC show 3 Plus You to talk about the event and also share their connection to Germany. It was a great piece of coverage that shares some insight to the German hospitality found both in the US and in Germany. The video is embedded below for you to check out, even if you are not in the Cleveland area.
Maifest 2012 goes from 10am to 3pm and will feature traditional Bavarian music performed by Jacob Herzog & the Bavarian Express, Bavarian food & drink, and activities for kids and the family. Its located right downtown Cleveland at First Street Square. Check out the source link for all the details.
