Since 2004 the German Embassy in the US has been busy with its popular promotional buses that travel the streets of Washington, DC, and now in its 10th version the embassy has decided to make the theme revolve around the top German travel destinations. Each of the three buses will feature the phrase “It’s nice here, but have you been to …” and will have their own unique designs to match the end of that sentence. The “German Cities” bus features images of Frankfurt and the famous timber-framed houses that Germany is famous for, while the “German Alps” bus shows off the Bavarian landscape with a view of the Neuschwanstein Castle. For the third bus, the focus is on the “German Coast” with a view of the tranquil coasts of the resort island of Sylt.
“After our successful “German is Wunderbar” and Christmas-themed buses, we want to continue to pique people’s interest in Germany with our new tourism-themed “Destinations” buses,” said German Embassy Spokesman Karl-Matthias Klause. “In an often stressful city, we’re hoping to bring a smile to the faces of Washingtonians with scenes from some of Germany’s superb travel destinations. Our vibrant bus designs should introduce a little color into rush-hour traffic.”
Just like the previous campaigns, if you spot the bus you can win a special prize pack by taking a picture and sending it in through the embassy website Germany.info. Even if you are not in the DC area, there is a virtual bus online that you can try to find to win a prize pack as well. Everyone that enters a photo will win a package of Germany.info gear that includes a pair of flip-flops, a lunch cooler, and a water bottle. If you want the gear, you need to enter by July 31, and all the details can be found at the source link below.
