One clever yet expensive hack to keep cars away

Man Outsmarts Drivers Parking Too Close with This Expensive Hack

By Stephen Fuchs on Email @StephenWFuchs

When a man in the German town of Oberkassel had one too many encounters with people parking their cars too close to his driveway, he put himself up to the task of finding a way to legally block off the stretch of roadside parking. The result turned out to be quite successful, although it did come with a quite a steep price tag.

The solution? Buy two Smart ForTwo cars and permanently park them on either side of the driveway. While his remedy was an expensive buy, it has kept his driveway clear of any cars that aren’t his own Smart cars for the last three years.

Since the cars can be moved at any time, it does not violate any local traffic laws, and according to neighbors, the cars have only moved once for what was most likely maintenance or registration renewals.
