The Sounds that Dominated German Music in 2017

By Stephen Fuchs on Email @StephenWFuchs

As 2017 comes to a close, we look back at some of the musical sounds that took control of the airwaves and the precious data plans across Germany. Much like the US, Germans have a diverse range of music that define them, and lists like these can only touch the surface, but we have rounded up the top of the top in mainstream German pop culture to bring you just a taste of what is playing across the ocean. You’ll find quite a few familiar global hits mixed with a few local chart-toppers, so be on the listen for something new.

For those of you looking for an authentic German listen, fear not… we have stripped away any non-German hit for a special mix of Deutschland’s most popular. Don’t expect all of these sounds to be foreign though as not all of Germany’s greatest stay within borders of their home country.
