SodaStream turns water into wine - Sparkling Gold

German SodaStream Owners Can Now Turn Water into Wine

Germans can now feel a little more Godly if they own a SodaStream, one of those fancy make at home seltzer and soda makers, as the company is releasing a special new drink mix in the country called “Sparkling Gold”, which will turn that water into wine.

The exclusive mix will turn plain water into a bubbly Riesling that the company says can hold its weight against the quality put out by French champagne heavyweights like Moet & Chardon and Veuve Clicquot. At least according to the tastes of 76 people out of the 100 that SodaStream conducted the test with.

One “Sparkling Gold” mixer is enough to serve 12 normal glasses of the good stuff and is said to pack an alcohol content of 10 percent by volume. If you have a SodaStream at home and live in the U.S., you’re out of luck though as the company appears to have limited plans with the good stuff, making it a special release in Germany only for the holidays.
