Watch as Merkel Lets Loose Singing for Votes in Berlin

Intentional or not, German Chancellor Angela Merkel typically comes across strict, stiff and orderly with few glimpses of real emotion, but as she fights for a run at a fourth term in office, she let her guard down a bit during a campaign event this past week, using German jazz singer Uschi Brining’s stage as a platform to make a rare musical debut of her own.

During a performance of Strange Things Happen Everyday, Brining hands the microphone to Merkel, sitting in the front row, to lend her vocals to the song. The moments are brief, but let me just say she shouldn’t give up her political career for one in music… although plenty of her opponents wouldn’t mind the transition.

Thankfully the moment of glory for Merkel was captured on video for all of us to witness…
