SF Lotte Fans Unite with Snow Shovels to Keep the Game Alive

Soccer fans in the German town of Lotte awoke to a world full of snow on Tuesday, and when a message was sent out about the cancellation of their much awaited match between their Munich rivals due to snow on the field, SF Lotte fans banded together with shovels in hand to turn the field of white green.

On the teams social media pages, the call to action was dire. “We need your support for tonight, so that the game can be played!” said a message on Facebook. “Bring your snow plow with you and let us clear the place together! Each hand helps.”

SF Lotte Fan Thank You

More than 100 fans lent their time and strength to make sure the game played on as scheduled. Did their hard work pay off? It sure did! SF Lotte finished the game with a 2–0 victory against 1860 Munich and advanced to the quarterfinals.
