Frozen Fox

Icy River Freezes German Fox in its Tracks

By Stephen Fuchs on Email @StephenWFuchs

Wintery weather can take a toll on us, but for one poor fox trying to navigate through the snowy terrain along Germany’s Danube river, the harsh conditions proved to be too much as a hunter later discovered its fate, frozen inside a tomb of ice.

Franz Stehle, who runs a small hotel in the southwestern town of Fridinen, removed the section of ice surrounding the fox and is now putting it on display outside hotel until the weather reaches thawing temperatures. Until them, this fox’s unfortunate fate might just serve as a warning to guests considering a chilly soak in the nearby river.
