Bullyparade - Der Film

Not long after announcing their first original German-language TV show “Wanted”, Amazon has once again shown interest in its German viewers with the announcement of a deal with Warner Bros to acquire an upcoming German comedy “Bullyparade – Der Film”.

“Bullyparade” is based on creator Michael Bully Herbig’s short-lived cult TV hit, of the same name, that ran in Germany from 2001 to 2002. Herbig went on to later create two of Germany’s highest-earning films of all time, “Der Schuh des Manitu” and “(T)Raumschiff Surprise — Periode 1”, which could be a good sign for Amazon as it looks to add market share to its Prime Video streaming service.

“Our customers love German series and films,” Amazon Video Deutschland’s managing director Christoph Schneider said in a statement announcing the deal. “This collaboration with Michael Bully Herbig and Warner Bros. is the next step in further expanding our involvement with German films and series and offering them exclusively to our customers.”

A release date has not yet been announced, but “Bullyparade” will be premiering on Amazon six months after the movie makes its theatrical debut. It was not said whether the movie will be available to U.S. viewers or if it will only be available in Germany and a few other European countries like Amazon’s upcoming German TV show.
