A group of German students have created a pair of mens underwear that does more than just provide comfort… it is woven with silver to protect your junk, or as they like to call it, your crown jewels, from radiation that could reduce fertility.

Kronjuwelen 02Kronjuwelen, which literally translates to “crown jewels”, came to fruition when the inventors noticed a trend with some of their friends having trouble conceiving. Numerous studies have been done on the effects of radiation coming from the phones in our pockets, and while the evidence seems to go back and forth, some believe it may be causing a rise in infertility in men.

Various forms of radiation are blocked by Kronjuwelen, but the company is claiming that their fabric will prevent 98% of phone radiation from ever reaching men’s sperm.

The underwear is made up of polyester (58%), polyamide (20%) and silver (22%), which acts as the main radiation deflection force. Kronjuwelen is not yet available in the U.S., but can be purchased on Amazon.de for 30 euros.
