The Latest Addition to the German Pulse Family
When we set out to create German Pulse in 2011, our goal was to re-imagine the German-American cultural landscape to better reflect the Germany that exists today. Our vision is large and as our site continues to grow and attract new users, we want to continue looking into the future to push the boundaries of German-American culture.
LGBT issues are not just a hot topic in the United States… it reaches far beyond the American border and Germany has a very strong and sometimes heated history around the subject. At one time in history, Germany was at the forefront of LGBT rights and acceptance. To this day, LGBT culture is still heavily influenced by contributions made by Germany years ago.
That is why on September 1, 2015, we will be launching LGBT Germany (LGBTGermany.com)!
LGBT Germany is more than just a historical look at Germany’s influence on LGBT culture. The site will not only cover the latest LGBT news and topics coming out of Germany, but serve as a resource for gay Americans looking to travel to Germany. We will be highlighting the gay hotspots in Germany, including an extensive roundup of gay bars, shops, restaurants, and more.
We will be paying attention to feedback and requests from our users to add fun new features to the site that will push the boundaries and put a brand new spin on German-American culture that has been ignored for too long.
How does this affect GermanPulse.com?
German Pulse is more than just one single website. Going forward we plan on launching sister sites that will focus on a more targeted subject that we feel is worth having a site of its own. This doesn’t mean GermanPulse.com is going to get less attention. It also means that if the subject matter of these specialized sites does not interest you, it will not be forced on you. You will still get the same German Pulse experience you are used to.
We understand the subject matter of LGBT Germany may make some people uncomfortable and if you are one of those individuals, your experience on our site will not change at all. Occasionally if we feel an article on LGBT Germany would be of interest to the broader German Pulse readership, we may highlight it on GermanPulse.com. This is no different from the LGBT-centered articles that have cropped up on German Pulse in the past.
With that said, we look forward to the launch of LGBT Germany at LGBTGermany.com on September 1st and hope that you check it out to see a brand new side to today’s German-American culture!
