German Tech Site Offers Up Modern Take on the Original Macintosh

CURVED Macintosh Concept

When Apple unveiled the original Macintosh over 30 years ago, it made history and led to a number of ongoing successes for the company. The computer designs have evolved quite a bit since the original Mac, but German tech site, CURVED, took it upon themselves to imagine what the original Macintosh would look like if Apple brought it to market in 2015.

CURVED/labs captured the transformed design in a very Apple-like manner, and while the computer bares a striking resemblance to its 30-year-old ancestor, its sleek form and beautiful all aluminum body makes it look so good you’ll want to lick it.

The site even imagined what would live inside the machine. Powering the computer would be components of the current Macbook Air with an 11.6-inch touch screen that could be controlled with touch or a more traditional mouse and keyboard. And where the 3.5-inch floppy insert once lived on the original is now home to a much more modern SD card slot.

Yes, this is all just fantasy and Apple would probably never consider such a unique take on their original design, but the detail that CURVED/labs went to may make some wish it to be reality.
