Berlin Wall TheLocal 25 Years

Germany’s TheLocal has compiled a collection of 11 striking photos that shows how much change has occurred in Berlin since the Wall fell nearly 25 years ago on November 9th 1989. The photos of current day Berlin were taken at the exact spots of some of the most historical photos from 25 years ago to show just how far the city has come.

The attention to detail when framing the “after” shots are what makes this collection special. Some key landmarks still remain from the “before” photos, but that’s the only similarity.

Berlin may have transformed into a modern city 25 years later, but these photos show just how much history still remains to this day. Head on over to The Local to see all 11 before and after photos.
