What German doesn’t enjoy a good sausage every once in a while? But do you know how to make one from scratch?  An upcoming one night class in Chicago will have you making your very own sausage under the instruction of Austrian Chef Martin of Alpine Brand Sausages.

The Kulturkueche Sausage Making Class, organized by the Chicago DANK Haus German American Cultural Center, will teach you how to make three to four sausage varieties, including the typical German “bratwurst to chorizo to sweet Italian and kielbasa.”  Students will get to experience the entire process of butchering, spicing and sausage stuffing.

For $20 you can learn how to make the sausage and walk home with the recipes, but also enjoy a drink and of course a tasting of the sausages.

This one night class will be offered on February 20 [tickets] and March 14 [tickets] at 7:30pm at the DANK Haus, located ½ a block from the Western Brown Line stop in Lincoln Square, Chicago’s historically German neighborhood.  Free parking is also available courtesy of MB Financial Bank.
