Do you have a story to tell about how your family came from Germany to the United States?  The Art Institute Chicago wants to hear that story for a special online compilation that has been inspired by their latest exhibition They Seek a City: Chicago and the Art of Migration, 1910-1950.  You can write your story out, record it on video, or submit a photo/drawing that captures your family’s journey.  There will also be the chance to win a They Seek a City exhibition catalogue every month through June.

This is a great opportunity to share your personal story with the public.  All of the stories that get submitted will appear shortly after sending it in on the specialized They Seek a City Tumblr page.  You can check that page out now to see what others have already contributed to the project.  For even more, you can visit the Art Institute Chicago to see the live exhibit which features an artistic look at the rich cultural history of the city of Chicago.  The exhibit runs through June 2, 2013.
