Deutsche Welle Holding Debate on the Importance of Europe to the United States

By Stephen Fuchs on Email @StephenWFuchs

Deutsche Welle is getting ready to hold a very interesting debate on its American station with the goal of answering the question of  whether or not Europe is still number one for the United States and you have a chance to attend the live taping.  According to DW.de, Europe’s image in the US has deteriorated in recent years with the “Euro crisis and perceptions of ‘European Socialism’” shaping American public opinion.

Former US Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle will be debating the former German Secretary of Defense Volker Rühe on this issue and more at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC on May 29 with added insight being provided by Helga Flores Trejo (Foreign Policy Expert) and Soren Dayton (Republican Strategist).

If you show up for the live taping, come prepared with a question as audience members will have an opportunity to provide debate topics.  There is no fee to attend but you must RSVP to [email protected] if you plan on going.  You’ll find all of the information at the source link below.
