German Pulse Community Forum Update

By Stephen Fuchs on Email @StephenWFuchs

Shortly after launching German Pulse a year ago, we quickly built up our discussion forum to provide a way for our readers to interact with each other and develop a community atmosphere.  We have had a lot of new readers/fans of German Pulse in the last few months and I wanted to provide some info on what the forum is.  The German Pulse Community was launched in July 2011, and although we haven’t given it the attention it deserves, please know that we still see it as an important part of the site that will be adapted in some exciting ways in the future.  If you haven’t checked it out yet, please do so and consider becoming a part of the community.  There are a lot of friendly and helpful members that would be more than happy to welcome you.

The Community Plan

Discussion forums have been around since the beginning of the internet and they go through phases of popularity every several years.  With the growing use of social networks, like Facebook, it can often be hard for people to see the difference or value that forums provide and we are aware of this.  As we are developing the full German Pulse site, the community forum is constantly being looked at as to how we can reinvent its purpose and usefulness on a site like ours.  The goal is to closely tie it in with the site and make it a platform for out readers to have their voices heard in a meaningful way.  For example, readers will have the opportunity to write pieces that get promoted to the main story stream on the site.  You can look at it as being mini articles.  We promise to keep you updated on this progress.

If you are interested in having a leading role in the Community forum, we are looking for some individuals that want to work with us to make it grow.  We’d be happy to work with anyone interested and guide them in any way that we can.  Please send us a message using our contact form if you are interested.
