Kirsten Dunst Becomes a German Citizen

The American actress, Kirsten Dunst, revealed to the German tabloid B.Z., that she has recently received German citizenship.  She has a connection to Germany from her German born father, and stated that she would make frequent visits to Hamburg to see relatives.  Dunst said that she would “prefer to buy an apartment in Berlin… It’s such a young city, and right now so much is happening in Berlin.

It’s not known whether or not Kirsten Dunst will make the full move to Germany, as she is still holding onto her U.S. citizenship for now.  It could very well be that she wanted to avoid some of the work visa hassle when acting in European made films like her recent role in “Melancholia.”  She told B.Z. “I’m now a real international lady…one who can film in Europe without a problem.”  Dunst then went on to state that one of her dreams is to remain true to her German roots and star in a German language film.  It may take some time before she is ready for a starring role though, as she confessed that her German language skills are only “at a child’s level.”
